The Leadership Forum for the Central Region was conducted in April 2010 at Syracuse in Onondaga County.

At the end of 2010, on-site co-occurring capability assessments had been completed for 31 outpatient service providers in the Central Region (7 in Broome County, 4 in Cayuga County, 2 in Chenango County, 5 in Oneida County, 7 in Onondaga County, 4 in Oswego County, and 2 in Otsego County). Four outpatient programs in Cortland County completed on-site assessments in 2011, bringing the total number of assessments in the Central Region to 35.

Broome County hosted the region’s first Building Capability Forum in June 2010 for the 7 programs in the County that had completed co-occurring capability assessments. The region’s second Building Capability Forum was held later that year (in December), for providers in Cayuga, Oneida, Onondaga, and Oswego Counties. A Building Recovery Workshop (the full workshop title is “Building Recovery Oriented Outpatient Services”) for all providers was held in late September 2011. CEIC will continue to work to engage and recruit providers from the remaining 5 counties (Cortland, Delaware, Herkimer, Madison, and Tioga) in the Central Region.

Note: The Central Region was recently reconfigured to include Herkimer and Oneida Counties, formerly part of a separate four-county region (Mohawk Valley), which has now been eliminated. The remaining two counties of what was the Mohawk Valley Region (Fulton and Montgomery) have been assigned to the Northeastern Region.
